Lori Shea, Founder of KSR and Owner of Abenaki Farm since September 2008, is the trainer and Head Instructor at the farm. After graduating from Utica College of Syracuse University with a degree in Public Relations and Journalism, she worked in the Advertising/PR world in New York, Boston and Los Angeles. Knowing her heart was with animals, she moved to Jackson, WY and after several years settled in Teton Valley, Idaho, where she bought her much-loved horse ranch. With the Teton Mountains as the backdrop, she enjoyed riding and competing in multi-disciplines with her horses of all types including her Clydesdale team, as well as, a Mustang weanling and yearling and two burros she adopted from the Bureau of Land Management. During this time, Lori coordinated and participated in the rescue and transport of 138 animals from Louisiana cities affected by Hurricane Katrina, back to ID where the animals were adopted to waiting homes.
Lori, her son and her Mom moved to NH and created Abenaki Farm, where she applied her Western knowledge and dedication to horses. She quickly developed a solid reputation and the trust of area horse owners and professionals, proving that a high-end, professional equine facility can also be friendly, low-key and fun. Having personally experienced the benefits of horses and other animals, Lori developed a program for people of all challenges to also benefit from working with animals, especially horses. She quickly immersed herself and her farm with numerous community organizations, including revising and coaching the local high school equestrian team.
Rescue, rehab and rehoming animals has been Lori’s passion for decades. Since arriving in NH, her farm was the satellite training/rehab site for NEER North, where more than 30 horses were directly adopted from the farm. She now works closely with Rock on Rescue, Inc in GA, fostering and finding adoptive homes for more than 50 dogs in the New England area. Lori is excited to continue this work through Kindred Spirits Ranch.

Steve’s introduction to the Army began as an enlisted soldier in the Infantry from
1986 to 1988. Many years later, after graduation from seminary and while serving in pastoral
ministry, he joined the NH Army National Guard as a chaplain in 2003. He served in various
capacities in the NH National Guard both as a traditional part-time soldier (one weekend a
month) and as a full-time soldier in NH, as well as being militarily activated for extended
periods both state-side and abroad. He held the position of Senior Army Chaplain for the NH
National Guard Joint Force Headquarters at the time of his retirement in 2022, after nearly 22
years of military service.
His chaplain duties throughout his career included offering general spiritual and emotional
support, as well as training hundreds of military and veteran families in the form of weekend
retreats focusing on communication skills and functioning as a team. He intervened on a regular
basis with service members and their families in crisis, to include situations involving suicidal
ideation, substance abuse, homelessness, and a host of behavioral health issues.
Additionally, he has served in a variety of pastoral roles for civilian congregations, as well as a
director of a veteran retreat non-profit, and has directly supervised volunteer and compensated
staff in all these endeavors.
He is currently a member of the Central Region Veteran Coalition, the VFW Mt. Prospect Post
#4483, and serves as the State Chaplain for the NH Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He
resides in Campton with his wife LeeAnn.
